The Institute for Research & Policy Alternatives (IRPA) is a consultancy entity registered as a private limited company in 2012. It was founded by Fred Matiangi,the cabinet secretary for ICT and Ken Nyaundi, a former commissioner with the IIEC.

The IRPA was established for the purposes of training, research, publication and certification in all aspects of public policy and governance. Its consultancy services are primarily related to public sector innovation, public service delivery and public resources management.
